7 And she brought forth her first begotten son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a cratch, because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 ¶ [a]And there were in the same country shepherds, [b]abiding in the field, and keeping watch by night over their flock.
9 And lo, the Angel of the Lord [c]came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone about them, and they were sore afraid.

New International Version
7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel(A) of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
