³⁸ He is not God of the dead but of the living, because all are living to^[a] Him.”^(A)

²⁰ My eager expectation and hope^(A) is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all boldness, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life^(B) or by death.^(C)

¹⁰ who died for us,^(A) so that whether we are awake or asleep,^(B) we will live together with Him.^(C)

¹³ Then I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write: The dead who die in the Lord from now on are blessed.”^(A)
