4 Then Jesus^(A) returned from the Jordan,^(B) full of the Holy Spirit, and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness

⁵ The proposal pleased the whole company. So they chose Stephen,^(A) a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte from Antioch.^(B)

⁵⁵ But Stephen, filled by the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven. He saw God’s glory, with^[a] Jesus standing at the right hand of God,^(A) and he said,
