Luke 8:20-22

The Voice

²⁰Word spread through the crowd.

Someone from the Crowd: Jesus, Your mother and brothers are outside the house hoping to see You.

Jesus: ²¹Do you want to know who My mother and brothers are? They’re the ones who truly understand God’s message and obey it.

²²Picture this:

One day Jesus and His disciples get into a boat.

Jesus: Let’s cross the lake.

So they push off from shore and begin sailing to the far side.

²⁰Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers^(A) are standing outside, wanting to see you.”

²¹He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.”^(B)

²²One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out.
