Samaritan Opposition

⁵¹ As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven,^(A) Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.^{(B) 52} And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan^(C) village to get things ready for him; ⁵³ but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem.

The Narrow Door

²² Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem.^(A)

³³ In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet^(A) can die outside Jerusalem!

Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time^(A)

³¹ Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, “We are going up to Jerusalem,^(B) and everything that is written by the prophets^(C) about the Son of Man^(D) will be fulfilled.

Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King^(A)(B)

²⁸ After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.^(C)

⁴ Now he had to go through Samaria.^(A)
