^34 (A)Your eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is ^[a]clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is ^[b]bad, your body also is full of darkness.

^7 (A)Little children, make sure no one ^(B)deceives you; ^(C)the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;

⁸ the one who practices sin is ^(A)of the devil; for the devil ^[a]has been sinning from the beginning. ^(B)The Son of God ^(C)appeared for this purpose, ^(D)to destroy the works of the devil.

¹⁷ Because you say, “^(A)I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,” and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked, ¹⁸ I advise you to ^(B)buy from Me ^(C)gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and ^(D)white garments so that you may clothe yourself and ^(E)the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to apply to your eyes so that you may see.

⁵ For we, ^[a]through the Spirit, ^[b]by faith, are ^(A)waiting for the hope of righteousness.

³² I have not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.”

³⁹ And Jesus said, “^(A)For judgment I came into this world, so that ^(B)those who do not see may see, and ^(C)those who see may become blind.”

⁴¹ Jesus said to them, “^(A)If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now that you maintain, ‘^(B)We see,’ your sin remains.
