¹⁵ He then told them, “Watch out and be on guard^(A) against all greed,^(B) because one’s life is not in the abundance of his possessions.”^(C)

²⁹ They are filled with all unrighteousness,^[a] evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,^(A)

¹⁹ They became callous and gave themselves over to promiscuity for the practice of every kind of impurity^(A) with a desire for more and more.^[a]

⁵ Therefore, put to death what belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity,^(A) lust,^(B) evil desire, and greed,^(C) which is idolatry.^(D)

⁵ For we never used flattering speech, as you know, or had greedy^(A) motives^(B)—God is our witness^(C)—

³ They will exploit^(A) you in their greed^(B) with made-up stories. Their condemnation,^(C) pronounced long ago, is not idle, and their destruction does not sleep.

¹⁴ They have eyes full of adultery^(A) that never stop looking for sin. They seduce unstable people and have hearts trained in greed. Children under a curse!^(B)
