⁴⁷ And every day he was teaching in the temple area.^(A) The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put him to death,^{(B) 48} but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words.

¹⁹ The scribes and chief priests sought to lay their hands on him at that very hour, but they feared the people, for they knew that he had addressed this parable to them.^(A)

⁴⁶ And although they were attempting to arrest him, they feared the crowds, for they regarded him as a prophet.
