The Way to the Cross

²⁶ As^(A) they led Him away, they seized Simon, a Cyrenian,^(B) who was coming in from the country, and laid the cross^(C) on him to carry behind Jesus.

¹⁷ For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to evangelize—not with clever words, so that the cross^(A) of Christ will not be emptied of its effect.

¹² Those who want to make a good impression in the flesh^(A) are the ones who would compel you to be circumcised^(B)—but only to avoid being persecuted^(C) for the cross^(D) of Christ.
