¹⁸ “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,^(A)
    because he has anointed me
    to proclaim good news^(B) to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
    and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
¹⁹     to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”^[a](C)

¹⁴ I write to you, dear children,^(D)
    because you know the Father.
I write to you, fathers,
    because you know him who is from the beginning.^(E)
I write to you, young men,
    because you are strong,^(F)
    and the word of God^(G) lives in you,^(H)
    and you have overcome the evil one.^(I)
