¹⁵ But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

³ because you know that the testing of your faith^(A) produces perseverance.^{(B) 4} Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature^(C) and complete, not lacking anything.

⁴ Therefore, among God’s churches we boast^(A) about your perseverance and faith^(B) in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.^(C)

⁵ All this is evidence^(D) that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy^(E) of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.

³ Not only so, but we^[a] also glory in our sufferings,^(A) because we know that suffering produces perseverance;^{(B) 4} perseverance, character; and character, hope.

¹⁹ Stand firm, and you will win life.^(A)
