¹⁸“The Ruach Adonai is on me,
because He has anointed me
to proclaim Good News to the poor.
He has sent me^[a] to proclaim release to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set free the oppressed,
¹⁹and to proclaim the year of Adonai’s favor.”^[b]

²⁰He closed the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. All eyes in the synagogue were focused on Him. ²¹Then He began to tell them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your ears.”
