4 John came[a], the one baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5 And the whole Judean country[b] was going out to him, and all the people-of-Jerusalem. And they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River while confessing-out[c] their sins. 6 And John was dressed-in camel’s hair and a belt made-of-leather around his waist, and was eating locusts and wild honey.

New International Version
4 And so John the Baptist(A) appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance(B) for the forgiveness of sins.(C) 5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. 6 John wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist,(D) and he ate locusts(E) and wild honey.
