5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem(A) were flocking to him, and they were baptized by him in the Jordan(B) River as they confessed(C) their sins.(D) 6 John wore a camel-hair garment with a leather belt around his waist and ate locusts(E) and wild honey.(F) 7 He was preaching: “Someone more powerful(G) than I will come after me.(H) I am not worthy(I) to stoop down and untie the strap of His sandals.(J)

5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. 6 John wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist,(A) and he ate locusts(B) and wild honey. 7 And this was his message: “After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.(C)
