15 So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released Barabbas for them; and after flogging Jesus, he handed him over to be crucified.

16 Then the soldiers led him into the courtyard of the palace (that is, the governor’s headquarters[a]); and they called together the whole cohort. 17 And they clothed him in a purple cloak; and after twisting some thorns into a crown, they put it on him.

Mark 15:15-17
New International Version
15 Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged,(A) and handed him over to be crucified.
The Soldiers Mock Jesus(B)
16 The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace(C) (that is, the Praetorium) and called together the whole company of soldiers. 17 They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him.
