¹² After this, he appeared^(A) in a different form to two of them walking on their way into the country.^(B)

¹⁴ This was now the third time^(A) Jesus appeared^[a](B) to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

¹¹ For we who live are always being given over to death^(A) for Jesus’s sake, so that Jesus’s life may also be displayed in our mortal flesh.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat^(A) of Christ,^(B) so that each may be repaid^(C) for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

¹⁶ And most certainly, the mystery of godliness^(A) is great:

²⁶ Otherwise, he would have had to suffer many times since the foundation of the world. But now he has appeared one time, at the end of the ages,^(A) for the removal of sin by the sacrifice of himself.^(B)

¹⁰ Concerning this salvation, the prophets,^(A) who prophesied about the grace that would come to you, searched and carefully investigated.

² that life was revealed,^(A) and we have seen it and we testify and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us^(B)—

⁵ You know that he was revealed so that he might take away sins,^[a](A) and there is no sin in him.^(B)
