James’s Judgment

¹³ After they had stopped speaking, ^[a](A)James answered, saying, “Brethren, listen to me.

¹⁸ And the following day Paul went in with us to ^[a](A)James, and all ^(B)the elders were present.

⁷ then He appeared to ^[a](A)James, then to ^(B)all the apostles;

¹⁹ But I did not see any other of the apostles except ^[a](A)James, the Lord’s brother.

⁹ and recognizing ^(A)the grace that had been given to me, ^[a](B)James and ^(C)Cephas and John, who were ^(D)reputed to be ^(E)pillars, gave to me and ^(F)Barnabas the ^(G)right ^[b]hand of fellowship, so that we might ^(H)go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

¹² For prior to the coming of certain men from ^[a](A)James, he used to ^(B)eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to withdraw and hold himself aloof, ^(C)fearing ^[b]the party of the circumcision.
