34 Looking up to heaven,(A) he sighed deeply and said to him, “Ephphatha!”[a] (that is, “Be opened!”). 35 Immediately his ears were opened,(B) his tongue was loosened, and he began to speak clearly.(C) 36 He ordered them to tell no one,(D) but the more he ordered them, the more they proclaimed it.(E)

34 He looked up to heaven(A) and with a deep sigh(B) said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means “Be opened!”). 35 At this, the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.(C)
36 Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone.(D) But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it.
