27 Then Jesus and His disciples went out to the villages of [a]Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He asked His disciples, “Who do people say that I am?”(A) 28 They answered Him, “John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; but others, one of the prophets.” 29 And He asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter replied to Him, “You [in contrast to the others] are the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).”

Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah(A)

27 Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?”
