³⁴But they were silent,^(A) because on the way they had been arguing with one another about who was the greatest.^(B)

³⁴But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest.^(A)

³⁴But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.

³²He will be great
and will be called the Son of the Most High,^(A)
and the Lord God will give Him
the throne of His father David.^(B)
