The Question about the Messiah

³⁵ So^(A) Jesus asked this question as He taught in the temple complex,^(B) “How can the scribes^(C) say that the Messiah^(D) is the Son of David?^(E)

³⁷ During^(A) the day, He was teaching in the temple complex,^(B) but in the evening He would go out and spend the night on what is called the Mount of Olives.^(C)

¹⁹ Didn’t Moses^(A) give you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law!^(B) Why do you want to kill Me?”

An Adulteress Forgiven

² At dawn He went to the temple complex^(A) again, and all the people were coming to Him.^(B) He sat down^(C) and began to teach them.

²⁰ “I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus answered him. “I have always taught in the synagogue^(A) and in the temple complex,^(B) where all the Jews congregate, and I haven’t spoken anything in secret.
