¹⁶ When ^(A)the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the ^[a]sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples, “^(B)Why is He eating with tax collectors and ^[b]sinners?”

² And both the Pharisees and the scribes began to complain, saying, “This man receives sinners and ^(A)eats with them.”

⁹ And a great uproar occurred; and some of ^(A)the scribes of the Pharisaic party stood up and started arguing heatedly, saying, “^(B)We find nothing wrong with this man; ^(C)suppose a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”
