³⁷ “^[a]He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.^(A)

³³ So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not [carefully consider the cost and then for My sake] ^[a]give up all his own possessions.

²⁹ Jesus said, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, there is no one who has given up a house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, ³⁰ who will not receive a hundred times as much now in the present age—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms—along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.

²⁹ And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother ^[a]or children or farms for My name’s sake will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life.
