^27 (A)All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. ^(B)Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. ²⁸ Come to ^(C)Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take My yoke upon you ^(D)and learn from Me, for I am ^[a]gentle and ^(E)lowly in heart, ^(F)and you will find rest for your souls. ^30 (G)For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

¹⁷ But Jesus answered them, ^(A)“My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”

¹⁸ Therefore the Jews ^(B)sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, ^(C)making Himself equal with God.

⁵⁴ Jesus answered, ^(A)“If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. ^(B)It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is ^[a]your God. ⁵⁵ Yet ^(C)you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and ^(D)keep His word. ⁵⁶ Your father Abraham ^(E)rejoiced to see My day, ^(F)and he saw it and was glad.”

⁵⁷ Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(G)before Abraham was, ^(H)I AM.”

⁵⁹ Then ^(I)they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, ^(J)going^[b] through the midst of them, and so passed by.

The Shepherd Knows His Sheep

²² Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. ²³ And Jesus walked in the temple, ^(A)in Solomon’s porch. ²⁴ Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in ^[a]doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

²⁵ Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. ^(B)The works that I do in My Father’s name, they ^(C)bear witness of Me. ²⁶ But ^(D)you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, ^[b]as I said to you. ^27 (E)My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. ²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. ^29 (F)My Father, ^(G)who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. ^30 (H)I and My Father are one.”

Renewed Efforts to Stone Jesus

³¹ Then ^(I)the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. ³² Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”

³³ The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for ^(J)blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, ^(K)make Yourself God.”

¹⁴ And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ^(A)‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”
