¹¹ “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. ¹² He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend^(A)?’ The man was speechless.

¹³ “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’^(B)

²⁸ In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

³³ “You snakes! You brood of vipers!^(A) How will you escape being condemned to hell?^(B)

⁶⁴ Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known^(A) from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him.^{(B) 65} He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”^(C)

⁶⁶ From this time many of his disciples^(D) turned back and no longer followed him.

¹³ Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles^(A) he saw.

²¹ You have no part or share^(A) in this ministry, because your heart is not right^(B) before God.

⁴ It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened,^(A) who have tasted the heavenly gift,^(B) who have shared in the Holy Spirit,^{(C) 5} who have tasted the goodness^(D) of the word of God^(E) and the powers of the coming age ⁶ and who have fallen^[a] away, to be brought back to repentance.^(F) To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God^(G) all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

³⁸ And,

Faith and Deeds

¹⁴ What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds?^(A) Can such faith save them?
