²⁰ But when he had thought this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “^(A)Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for ^[a]the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

²⁴ And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife,

The Escape to Egypt

¹³ Now when they had gone, behold, an ^(A)angel of the Lord *^(B)appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”

¹⁹ But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord *^(A)appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, and said,

² And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for ^(A)an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away ^(B)the stone, and sat upon it.

¹¹ Now ^(A)an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the altar of incense.

⁹ And ^(A)an angel of the Lord suddenly ^(B)stood near them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.

²⁶ But ^(A)an angel of the Lord spoke to ^(B)Philip, saying, “Get ready and go ^[a]south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to ^(C)Gaza.” (^[b]This is a desert road.)

³ About ^(A)the ^[a]ninth hour of the day he clearly saw ^(B)in a vision ^(C)an angel of God who had just come in and said to him, “Cornelius!”

⁷ And behold, ^(A)an angel of the Lord suddenly ^(B)stood near Peter, and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter’s side and woke him, saying, “Get up quickly.” And ^(C)his chains fell off his hands.
