¹⁷ But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the ^(A)courts and scourge you ^(B)in their synagogues;

⁵⁹ Now the chief priests and the whole ^[a](A)Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.

⁹ “But ^[a]be on your guard; for they will ^(A)deliver you to the ^[b]courts, and you will be flogged ^(B)in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them.

⁵⁵ Now the chief priests and the whole ^[a](A)Council kept trying to obtain testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, and they were not finding any.

15 ^(A)Early in the morning the chief priests with the elders and scribes and the whole ^[a](B)Council, immediately held a consultation; and binding Jesus, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate.

Now when ^(B)the high priest and his associates came, they called ^(C)the ^[a]Council together, even all the Senate of the sons of Israel, and sent orders to the prison house for them to be brought.
