³⁸^(A) And unless you are willing to take up your cross and follow me, you are not fit to be my disciples.

New International Version

³⁸Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.^(A)

³⁸And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

²⁷^(A) You cannot be my disciple unless you carry your own cross and follow me.

²⁷And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.^(A)

²⁷And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
