⁴ Simon the ^[a]Zealot, and ^(A)Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed Him.

²⁵ And ^(A)Judas, who was betraying Him, said, “Surely it is not I, ^(B)Rabbi?” Jesus *said to him, “^(C)You have said it yourself.”

Jesus’ Betrayal and Arrest

^47 (A)While He was still speaking, behold, ^(B)Judas, one of the twelve, came up ^[a]accompanied by a large crowd with swords and clubs, who came from the chief priests and elders of the people.

³ Then when ^(A)Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that He had been condemned, he felt remorse and returned ^(B)the thirty ^[a]pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

⁷¹ Now He meant Judas ^(A)the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, ^(B)one of ^(C)the twelve, ^[a]was going to betray Him.

⁴ But ^(A)Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, who was intending to ^[a]betray Him, *said,

²⁶ Jesus then *answered, “That is the one for whom I shall dip the morsel and give it to him.” So when He had dipped the morsel, He *took and *gave it to Judas, ^(A)the son of Simon Iscariot.

¹⁶ “Brethren, ^(A)the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, ^(B)who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
