²⁹Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

²¹What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a rod of discipline,^(A) or shall I come in love and with a gentle spirit?

²¹What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

⁵Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.^(A)

⁵Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
