¹⁰ There he saw a man who had a shriveled hand, and in order to accuse him they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” ^(A)

¹⁴ But the leader of the synagogue, indignant^(A) because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, responded by telling the crowd, “There are six days when work should be done;^(B) therefore come on those days and be healed and not on the Sabbath day.”

³ In response, Jesus asked the law experts^(A) and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?”^(B)

¹⁰ and so the Jews^(A) said to the man who had been healed, “This is the Sabbath.^(B) The law prohibits you from picking up your mat.”

²³ If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath^(A) so that the law of Moses^(B) won’t be broken, are you angry at me because I made a man entirely well on the Sabbath?
