²³All the people were astonished and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”^(A)

Matthew 12:23

²³And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

²⁶Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities^(A) really concluded that he is the Messiah?^(B)

²⁶But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

³¹Still, many in the crowd believed in him.^(A) They said, “When the Messiah comes, will he perform more signs^(B) than this man?”

³¹And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
