Lord of the Sabbath
8 For (A)the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
9 (B)Departing from there, He went into their synagogue. 10 And a man was there whose hand was withered. And they questioned [a]Jesus, asking, “(C)Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—so that they might accuse Him. 11 And He said to them, “(D)What man [b]is there among you who [c]has a sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will he not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 (E)How much more valuable then is a man than a sheep! So then, it is lawful to do [d]good on the Sabbath.” 13 Then He *said to the man, “Stretch out your hand!” (F)He stretched it out, and it was restored to [e]normal, like the other. 14 But the Pharisees went out and [f](G)conspired against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.

9 Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, 10 and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus,(B) they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”(C)
11 He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?(D) 12 How much more valuable is a person than a sheep!(E) Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
13 Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. 14 But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.(F)

Pilate *said to them, “Behold, the Man!” 6 So when the chief priests and the (D)officers saw Him, they cried out saying, “Crucify, crucify!” Pilate *said to them, “Take Him yourselves and crucify Him, for (E)I find no guilt in Him.” 7 The Jews answered him, “(F)We have a law, and by that law He ought to die because He (G)made Himself out to be the Son of God.”
