Jesus Heals on the Day of Worship(A)

Yeshua moved on from there and went into a synagogue. 10 A man with a paralyzed hand was there. The people asked Yeshua whether it was right to heal on a day of worship so that they could accuse him of doing something wrong.

11 Yeshua said to them, “Suppose one of you has a sheep. If it falls into a pit on a day of worship, wouldn’t you take hold of it and lift it out? 12 Certainly, a human is more valuable than a sheep! So it is right to do good on the day of worship.”

13 Then he said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” The man held it out, and it became normal again, as healthy as the other.

14 The Pharisees left and plotted to kill Yeshua. 15 He knew about this, so he left that place.

Jesus Heals on the Day of Worship(A)

Yeshua went into a synagogue again. A man who had a paralyzed hand was there. The people were watching Yeshua closely. They wanted to see whether he would heal the man on the day of worship so that they could accuse him of doing something wrong.

So he told the man with the paralyzed hand, “Stand in the center of the synagogue.” Then he asked them, “Is it right to do good or to do evil on the day of worship, to give a person back his health or to let him die?”

But they were silent. Yeshua was angry as he looked around at them. He was deeply hurt because their minds were closed. Then he told the man, “Hold out your hand.” The man held it out, and his hand became normal again.

The Pharisees left, and with Herod’s followers they immediately plotted to kill Yeshua.

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath

Another time Jesus went into the synagogue,(A) and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely(B) to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.(C) Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”

Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.

He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians(D) how they might kill Jesus.(E)
