20 (A)Then He gave the disciples strict orders that they were to tell no one that He was (B)the [a]Christ.
Jesus Foretells His Death
21 (C)From that time [b]Jesus began to [c]point out to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go to Jerusalem and to (D)suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised up on the third day. 22 And yet Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “[d]God forbid it, Lord! This shall never [e]happen to You!”

20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone(A) that he was the Messiah.
Jesus Predicts His Death(B)
21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem(C) and suffer many things(D) at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law,(E) and that he must be killed(F) and on the third day(G) be raised to life.(H)
22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!”
