19 They will hand him over to the Gentiles(A) to be mocked, flogged,[a] and crucified, and on the third day he will be raised.”[b]

20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons approached him with her sons.(B) She knelt down to ask him for something.(C) 21 “What do you want?” he asked her.
“Promise,”[c] she said to him, “that these two sons of mine may sit, one on your right and the other on your left, in your kingdom.”(D)

21 “What is it you want?” he asked.
She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”(H)
