^4 (A)This ^[a]took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:

⁶ The disciples went and did just as Jesus had instructed them, ⁷ and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their coats on them; and He sat on ^[b]the coats. ⁸ Most of the crowd ^(C)spread their coats in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them in the road. ⁹ The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting,

³⁵ They brought it to Jesus, ^(A)and they threw their coats on the colt and put Jesus on it. ³⁶ As He was going, they were spreading their coats on the road. ³⁷ As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of ^(B)the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to ^(C)praise God ^[a]joyfully with a loud voice for all the ^[b]miracles which they had seen, ³⁸ shouting:

Jesus Enters Jerusalem

¹² On the next day ^(A)the large crowd who had come to ^(B)the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, ¹³ took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, “^(C)Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the ^(D)King of Israel.” ¹⁴ Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, ¹⁵ “^(E)Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your King is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”
