²⁴ For false messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to lead astray,^(A) if possible, even the elect.

³¹ He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet,^(A) and they will gather his elect from the four winds,^(B) from one end of the sky to the other.

²⁰ If the Lord^(A) had not cut those days short,^(B) no one would be saved. But he cut those days short for the sake of the elect,^(C) whom he chose.^(D)
