14 And this good-news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations. And then the end[a] will come.
When You See Daniel’s Abomination, Flee. For There Will Be a Great Affliction
15 “Therefore when you see[b] the abomination of desolation[c]— the thing having been spoken through Daniel the prophet— standing in the holy place[d] (let the one reading understand), 16 then let the ones in Judea be fleeing to the mountains.

- Matthew 24:14 That is, the coming of Christ; or, the beginning of the end time.
- Matthew 24:15 Some think that this is the sign of the destruction of Jerusalem, as in Lk 21:20-24; others, that it is the sign of the beginning of the end time, as in 2 Thes 2:3-4; others, both.
- Matthew 24:15 That is, an act of sacrilege characterized by or consisting of or resulting in desolation. The term comes from Dan 9:27; 11:31; 12:11.
- Matthew 24:15 This could refer to the a.d. 70 temple or an end-time temple of God, or to Jerusalem, or to Judea.
Matthew 24:14-16
New International Version
14 And this gospel of the kingdom(A) will be preached in the whole world(B) as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
15 “So when you see standing in the holy place(C) ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[a](D) spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
