³⁹ Going a little farther,^[a] he fell facedown and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”^(A)

³⁴ “My food is to do the will of him^(A) who sent me^(B) and to finish his work,”^(C) Jesus told them.

³⁸ For I have come down from heaven,^(A) not to do my own will, but the will of him^(B) who sent me.

¹⁶ Jesus answered them, “My teaching isn’t mine but is from the one who sent me.^{(A) 17} If anyone wants to do his will,^(B) he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own. ¹⁸ The one who speaks on his own seeks his own glory;^(C) but he who seeks the glory^(D) of the one who sent him is true,^(E) and there is no unrighteousness in him.^(F)
