54 How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled(A) that say it must happen this way?”
55 At that time Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal,[a] to capture Me? Every day I used to sit, teaching in the temple complex, and you didn’t arrest Me.(B) 56 But all this has happened so that the prophetic Scriptures[b](C) would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples(D) deserted Him and ran away.

55 In that hour Jesus said to the crowd, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courts teaching,(B) and you did not arrest me. 56 But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled.”(C) Then all the disciples deserted him and fled.
