55 At the same time Jesus said to the throng, You have come out as if against a thief, with swords and clubs to take me. I sat daily teaching in the temple among you, and you did not take me. 56 All this was done so that the scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled.
57 Then all the disciples forsook him and fled.
And they took Jesus and led him to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

55 In that hour Jesus said to the crowd, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courts teaching,(A) and you did not arrest me. 56 But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled.”(B) Then all the disciples deserted him and fled.

57 Those who had arrested Jesus took him to Caiaphas(D) the high priest, where the teachers of the law and the elders had assembled.
