²³ And he said, “Why, what evil did He do?” But they were crying out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”

¹⁴ But Pilate was saying to them, “Why? What evil did He do?” But they shouted all the more, “Crucify Him!”

¹⁴ and said to them, “You brought this man to me as one who ^[a](A)incites the people to rebellion, and behold, having examined Him before you, I ^(B)have found in this man no guilt of what you are accusing Him.

²² And he said to them a third time, “Why, what evil has this man done? I have found in Him no guilt worthy of death; therefore I will ^(A)punish Him and release Him.”

³⁸ Pilate *said to Him, “What is truth?”

And when he had said this, he ^(A)went out again to the Jews and *said to them, “^(B)I find no guilt in Him.
