Matthew 4:3-5
New Testament for Everyone
3 Then the tempter approached him.
“If you really are God’s son,” he said, “tell these stones to become bread!”
4 “The Bible says,” replied Jesus, “that it takes more than bread to keep you alive. You actually live on every word that comes out of God’s mouth.”
5 Then the devil took him off to the holy city, and stood him on a pinnacle of the Temple.

New International Version
3 The tempter(A) came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God,(B) tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[a]”(C)
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city(D) and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
