Matthew 4:6-8

6 (A) The devil said, “If you are God's Son, jump off. The Scriptures say:
‘God will give his angels
orders about you.
They will catch you
in their arms,
and you won't hurt
your feet on the stones.’ ”
7 (B) Jesus answered, “The Scriptures also say, ‘Don't try to test the Lord your God!’ ”
8 Finally, the devil took Jesus up on a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms on earth and their power.

New International Version
6 “If you are the Son of God,”(A) he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[a]”(B)
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[b]”(C)
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
