²³ Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers!’^[a][b](A)

⁴⁰ Therefore, just as the weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.^(A)

⁴² They will throw them into the blazing furnace^(A) where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.^(B)

⁴⁸ where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.^[a]

⁴ For if God didn’t spare^(A) the angels who sinned but cast them into hell^[a](B) and delivered them in chains^[b] of utter darkness to be kept for judgment;^(C)
