²² And the one sown with seed among the thorns, this is the one who hears the word, and the anxiety of ^(A)the ^[a]world and the ^(B)deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it ^[b]becomes unfruitful.

⁶ Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are ^(A)mature; a wisdom, however, not of ^(B)this age nor of the rulers of ^(C)this age, who are ^(D)passing away;

⁸ the wisdom ^(A)which none of the rulers of ^(B)this age has understood; for if they had understood it, they would not have crucified ^(C)the Lord of glory;

^18 (A)Take care that no one deceives himself. ^(B)If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in ^(C)this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. ¹⁹ For ^(D)the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God. For it is written: “He is ^(E)the one who catches the wise by their craftiness”;
