3 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when ^(A)Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, and ^(B)Herod was tetrarch of Galilee and his brother Philip was tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene,

^7 (A)Now ^(B)Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening; and he was greatly perplexed, because it was said by some that ^(C)John had risen from the dead,

⁷ And when he learned that He belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to ^(A)Herod, ^[a]since he also was in Jerusalem ^[b]at this time.
