¹⁴ As He stepped ashore,^[a] He saw a huge crowd, felt compassion for them, and healed their sick.^(A)

³² Now Jesus summoned His disciples and said,^(A) “I have compassion on the crowd, because they’ve already stayed with Me three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry; otherwise they might collapse on the way.”

³⁴ So as He stepped ashore, He saw a huge crowd and had compassion^(A) on them, because they were like sheep^(B) without a shepherd. Then He began to teach them many things.
