Matthew 26:20-25International Standard Version (ISV)
20 When evening came, Jesus[a] was sitting at the table with the Twelve.[b]21 While they were eating, he said, “I tell all of you[c] with certainty, one of you is going to betray me.”
22 Feeling deeply distressed, each one began to ask him, “Surely I am not the one, Lord?”
23 He replied, “The man who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.24 The Son of Man is going away, just as it has been written about him. How terrible it will be for that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for him if he had never been born.”
25 Then Judas, who was going to betray him, asked, “Rabbi,[d] I’m not the one, am I?”
17 When evening came, Jesus[a] arrived with the Twelve. 18 While they were at the table eating, Jesus said, “I tell all of you[b] with certainty, one of you is going to betray me, one who is eating with me.”
19 They began to be very sad and asked him, one after the other, “Surely I am not the one, am I?”
20 He told them, “It’s one of you Twelve, the one who is dipping his bread into the bowl with me.21 For the Son of Man is going away, just as it has been written about him, but how terrible it will be for that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for him if he had never been born.”
21 Yet look! The hand of the man who is betraying me is with me on the table!22 The Son of Man is going away, just as it has been determined, but how terrible it will be for that man by whom he is betrayed!”23 Then they began to discuss among themselves which one of them was going to do this.
